Tatiana Xenou is a Health Psychologist, holding a degree in Psychology,
a Master’s degree in Health Psychology (MSc Health Psychology) from City
University of London, UK, and is a chartered psychologist of the British Psychological Society (BPS). Furthermore,
she is a certified clinical supervisor by the British Psychological Society
(RAPPS).
During her postgraduate studies as a health psychologist and subsequently,
she was trained in assessment and intervention tools in Cognitive-
Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in Greece and the United Kingdom (UK), in
psycho-oncology, in the management of patients with chronic illness in clinical
settings, and in stress management strategies. From 2005 to 2012,
she worked in clinical settings as a health psychologist. Specifically, she has been a scientific
associate and head of the psychological support sector in private
clinical structures (Athens Clinic and Euroclinic) & non-governmental
organizations in Greece & Cyprus. Since 2012, she maintains a private practice.
Alongside her clinical work, since 2007, she has been working in private
education. Specifically, she teaches in the fields of social and
humanities (Psychology) and health sciences in undergraduate,
postgraduate, and doctoral programs, and supervises undergraduate and
postgraduate research projects. Additionally, she participates in research
projects, gives speeches, and coordinates workshops. She has served as
the academic head of psychology programs at
Metropolitan College (HND psychology, BSc Psychology, MSc Clinical
Community Psychology, MSc Psychology, MSc Business/organizational
psychology).
In the context of lifelong learning and professional development, she has
participated and continues to participate in professional training,
conferences, and seminars on an annual basis. She is involved in writing articles for
the public and health professionals, and her recent
research focuses on the attitudes and behaviors of individuals during a pandemic, with an emphasis on the COVID-19 pandemic. Her main
research interests include quality of life in individuals with chronic
illness, women’s health, prevention and adoption of health
behaviors, stress management & communication between health professional –
patient.
